Calendar of Events

The Village Square will host Speed Date Your Local Leaders, a civic engagement event bringing community members together with local elected officials and other community leaders for informal conversations about issues important to the Tallahassee community. Members of the Leon County Board of County Commissioners and the City of Tallahassee Commission have been invited to attend and participate. More than one member of either governing body may be in attendance.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for mingling and light bites, and the program will run from 6 to 8 p.m. The format will give community members an opportunity to engage directly with local leaders in small-group conversations. Leaders will rotate among tables, allowing participants to ask questions, share ideas and discuss matters of importance to the community.

More than one member of the City of Tallahassee Commission and/or the Leon County Board of County Commissioners may attend this event. Matters that may come before either governing body in the future may be discussed. To the extent a gathering of members of either governing body constitutes a meeting subject to Florida's Sunshine Law, the applicable public-meeting requirements will apply.
